There are many places to fish in the Scottish Borders but you must have a permit to do so. They can be bought from any local Angling shop.
The Tweed and salmon fishing – The River Tweed has been famous for it’s salmon fishing since Roman times with people coming from all over the world to fish it. The Tweed was the first river in the world to be managed for the environment and fish. The Tweed Commissioners were set up by Sir Walter Scott, the world famous novelist and others in 1805.
After recent world breaking years, it also now ranks among the very top salmon rivers in the world the Tweed has seasonal fishing for
salmon, sea trout, trout anf grayling.
